Rant or Rave • E.L.F New Studio Brushes

*this post is image heavy*
If you've been an avid reader of the blog, you may remember that I did this post a year or two ago about buying inexpensive brushes. WELL, two years later and I'm still incredibly cheap and refuse to splurge on makeup brushes, haha. PLUS you can find some really high quality brushes at Walgreens and other drug stores. Recently I found 3 game changers, and all for $6 each might I add.

As most (or all) of you know, E.L.F or Eyes Lips Face, has AMAZING products that won't break your bank account's heart. From eyeshadow to skin care, they've got it all. One of their most surprising products, to me at least, are their brushes.
I've tried many WalMart branded brushes that often left my skin really itchy and my face completely unblended, so I truly appreciate the quality that is put into these brushes.
I've been an avid E.L.F fan for YEARS now, I'm pretty sure I onw 90% of their brushes....So when I saw these three, I knew just I just H A D to get my hands on them.
Being overseas, I don't really get the instant updates on what's coming out, nor do I have the opportunity to run out and get them, so I appreciate when bloggers/youtubers make it a point to talk about the latest happenings in the makeup world. One of my all time favorite bloggers slash youtubers is Bailey, she's always so honest in her reviews and she's always so up to date on what's coming out next! So when I saw her video about these brushes I just knew I had to get my hands on them. OF COURSE they were sold out online...so after refreshing the page 5793859384 times and praying to the make up gods a few dozen times; and 2 weeks of playing hide and seek at the post office, I finally got my hands on them!

I wanted this to be a fair and honest review, so I used these bad boys for about a month before decided to report my results...as if it's that serious.

THIS. THING. IS. A. GAME. CHANGER.
I'm not even joking. If you've ever wanted the Nars ITA brush ($55) or the Sephora brush #77 ($34),  this is a great alternative and for just $6!
I was expecting this to be a super rough brush that did nothing but leave streaks on my cheeks. BUT GIIIRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLLL, I was wrong. 4 for you E.L.F You go E.L.F

The company claims:
" This brush is specifically designed for advanced makeup application to help achieve professional looks. The densely packed hair and structured shape achieves flawless dimension along the cheekbones, forehead, and jawline for targeted contouring. Perfect for using with pressed or loose bronzer powder, liquids, and creams to create beautiful sculpting all over the face. This brush is made by artisans with expert craftsmanship to cut, shape, and hand-assemble the ultra-fine synthetic hair for a luxurious experience."
Does it live up to it's claims? Absolutely! This brush makes your contour looks so effortless.

 What's your favorite bronzer?

e.l.f blending brush
I was, and still slightly am, confused about this brush. It says it's meant for liquid products, but the shape just really throws me off...I also was too excited and didn't read the claims before I used it...so I used it for my blush (both cream and powder), but you know what? This actually blended my blush and bronzer out quite nicely. I will however, go back and test this with my liquid products and post an update. This brush is also quite tiny. It's roughly the size of my palm. Which I actually don't mind, it makes it compact and easy to just throw in my to-go makeup bag!
None the less, this brush is SUPER soft and versatile. It's got a fan slash dome shape to it which makes it perfect for blending.

Company claims:

"Creates a flawless look that's beautiful and natural looking with our Blending Brush. The unique shape of the brush head provides even, streak-free coverage for a smooth, expertly blended effect. The ultra-fine synthetic fibers are hand cut, shaped, and assembled by artisans for expert craftmanship for a luxury experience. The soft hair is vegan-friendly and easy to clean with e.l.f. Brush Shampoo"

Does it live up to the claims? It sure does! It blended my blush and bronzer out so smoothly, NO streaks what so ever!

e.l.f ultimate blending brush
I give you the holy mecca of face brushes. Bow down to thee. I love this brush SO much. Whether it's my full coverage foundation or my bb cream, this thing is a god send for seamless blending!
Don't let the small dome fool you, it's got your whole face covered.

Company claims:

"The Ultimate Blending Brush is specifically designed for advanced makeup techniques that help achieve professional looks. The large dome-shaped head and densely packed bristles maneuver in and around the crevices and contours of your face for seamless, even coverage. It picks up the perfect amount of product to build coverage with powder, liquid, or mousse foundation, bronzer, or blush. The ultra-fine synthetic fibers are hand cut, shaped, and assembled by artisans for expert craftmanship for a luxury experience."

Does it live up to it's claims? Y E S! It doesn't make my face look sreakey, cakey, or flakey. If you only buy one of these brushes, buy this one!

To my surprise, these all held up incredibly well in the 3 rounds of wash they've gone through. Kudos to you E.L.F! You never fail to crush my spirits.
